Today Mozaic Technologies announced the inclusion of free SSL certificates for all subscribers and domain names on the Mozaic Platform.

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the industry standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral.

To be able to create an SSL connection, a web server requires an SSL certificate, generally ranging in cost from $20- $300. Previously, Mozaic charged $20 including installation. Starting today, all sites on the platform will get SSL automatically and at no charge.

Clients who previously paid for SSL certificates for their sites will automatically be renewed for free at expiry, and new sites will automatically get an SSL certificate upon sign-up. Existing Mozaic customers without SSL certificates have the option of enabling SSL directly inside their Wordpress dashboard.

According to Symantec Corp., a global leader in cybersecurity, there are almost a billion websites in existence and only about 3% of those are encrypted.

“We are passionate about online privacy and security, and we want all Mozaic clients to benefit from the e-commerce and SEO advantages SSL provides,” said Dorsey Coe, co-founder and lead developer of Mozaic Technology.

“‘Websites simple and affordable for everyone’ is part of our mission statement, so the addition of free and automatic SSL certificates is a natural progression and perfectly aligns with our core values,” he added.
